AOL DSL

You can find reviews of AOL DSL at http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews68432.html

Most of the reviews appear to be negative.

Personally, I do not like most of AOL's services.

For one, their email system frequently deletes messages flagged as SPAM without giving you the opportunity to see them for yourself. This means important email can get erased before you even have a chance to review it!

AOL also requires you to install their slow, annoying software.

For some users who don't mind AOL taking over your internet experience, this may be ok...but for anyone who just wants to 'get to it', the AOL interface is damn annoying!

It loads several different programs when you start up your computer, and thus a simple comupter restart may mean 5 minutes of waiting while AOL loads up all of its various services on your desktop.

In addition, the tech support is not great.

While they can be reached via chat 24 hours per day (which is very useful) I have found their technicians to be poorly informed and have spent more than 5 hours fixing simple problems due to their inexperience.

My main problem with AOL is the waiting around...it's always something...and the system is not designed for speed...It is designed for people who need everything in 1 place.

Personally, I would not recommend AOL.

However, on the upside, they do offer free service to start via the CDs they send in the mail. I have tried to sign up, one of these said 'Free, No Credit Card Required' but alas, there was no way to get it started without a credit card...I was pissed.

AOL gets thumbs down from me.

Editor.
