Instead of renewing at a high rate, make sure to check out the promotional rates.

If you call on the phone and ask to get the lower rate, they may not allow you to...BUT, if you say you would like to cancel the plan, then they will capitulate and offer you the lower deal. When I moved last year and called to move my DSL service, I asked to get the newer, lower monthly rate.

Make sure you get the best rate as it can mean a savings of more than $15/month on DSL service charges.
